According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, New Orleans brought wide receivers Hakeem Nicks and Vincent Brown in for workouts in addition to Moore.

The Oakland Raiders drafted Moore out of Tennessee with a fifth-round pick in 2011. He played there through the 2014 campaign and was a dangerous option during his first three seasons. He topped the 600-yard mark and caught at least five touchdowns three years in a row for the Raiders but struggled to maintain that consistency in 2014, when he only appeared in 10 games:

Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk noted Moore signed with the Buffalo Bills in October 2015 and played in six games last year, but he failed to register a catch.

Mike Triplett of ESPN.com suggested the Saints “still have a veteran void” at the wide receiver position after they released Marques Colston this offseason. He said there isn’t a wide receiver on the roster who is older than 23 years old, even though they did select playmaker Michael Thomas out of Ohio State in the second round of this year's NFL draft.

The 27-year-old Moore would provide New Orleans with that veteran presence to potentially lead the youngsters this season. He is a 6'0" weapon with an impressive track record from 2011-13 on his resume and could give the Saints another option in an aerial attack that finished first in the league in passing yards a season ago.
