We’ve seen One Direction, Justin Bieber, and Adele on carpool karaoke, and by now we were pretty sure it couldn’t get any better, unless they flew over the Queen of England herself.
But it looks like we were wrong…
Only days after her insane break into fame, Candace Payne, better known as Chewbacca Mom, made the trip to Los Angeles, California to hang out alongside James Corden. And an appearance by Chewbacca Mom herself wouldn’t be complete without a surprise visit from ‘Star Wars’ director himself, J.J. Abrams.
While it wasn’t the classic carpool karaoke we’ve all grown to love, the segment was just as good. Candace gives James a few pointers on how to work the mask, with J.J. Abrams popping in to give some tips and tidy up her skills just a bit. In the end, all three put on a mask of their own, but they can’t really do much more than laugh, knee slaps and Chewbacca noises and all. And we’re laughing right along with them.
Candace also took the stage on the live show to discuss what it’s like to become an internet star in a matter of days. James gets a rundown on just how quickly the video blew up, hitting 20 millions views overnight. But it’s clear that this fame hasn’t gone to Candace’s head. She’s still the crazy, hilarious, mom we saw in the first video, and we’re definitely loving her for it.
It’s great to see a deserving, kind, funny stay-at-home mom making people all over the world so happy with nothing more than a silly toy, and we’re hoping Candace’s success continues to grow!
