Happy Birthday, Barbie!
Everyone’s favorite doll is celebrating her 56th birthday today, and as we well know, she’s been many a fabulous thing: a doctor, a vet, a rock star, and, perhaps most frequently, a celebrity!
While the blonde beauty is quite the superstar in her own right, in honor of her special day, Us Weekly rounded up her best celebrity incarnations, from Audrey Hepburn as Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany’s to the just-released Shailene Woodley as Tris from The Divergent Series: Insurgent.
Scroll down to see Us’ 12 favorites!
Audrey Hepburn as Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1999)
Classic! While Barbie also donned Holly’s famous LBD and topknot, she truly popped in the big screen fashionista’s fuchsia confection, pulled from the 1961 film.
Twiggy (1967)
The It Girl was the first celeb muse for Mattel’s blonde icon.
Marilyn Monroe as The Girl in The Seven Year Itch (1997)
Yep, they got the skirt flip just right.
Beyonce Knowles (2005)
So bootylicious, even in doll form. This Beyonce doll also came with friends: a doll-sized Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, aka her Destiny’s Child groupmates.
Cher (2007)
The Mattel mainstay worked the “I’ve Got You Babe” songstress’ classic ring leader look, courtesy of Bob Mackie, made Barbie-sized.
Debbie Harry (2010)
The Blondie frontwoman was the perfect rock-and-roll choice for Barbie, as the singer was often seen sporting the doll’s signature shade.
Jennifer Lopez (2013)
Barbie as J.Lo worked one of the Latina pop star’s illusion ensembles, a match to one she wore onstage during her world tour.
Elizabeth Taylor (2012)
Shine bright like a White Diamond, Liz!
Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games (2012)
Katniss may not be a girl who’d play with Barbies, but that doesn’t make the doll look any less badass carrying a bow.

Kate Middleton and Prince William (2012)
Fit for a little princess! Here are minis of our favorite Duke and Duchess, in replicas of the outfits the real royals wore on their wedding day (including Middleton’s already iconic Alexander McQueen stunner).
Shailene Woodley as Tris in The Divergent Series: Insurgent (2015)
And here’s the latest celeb Barbie, designed with Woodley’s fierce heroine in mind—complete with her sandy blonde crop! (You can shop her now for $25 at BarbieCollector.com.)
