Anne Hathaway Is Not Pregnant: Rep Slams New Report

It looks like Oscar winner Anne Hathaway won't be taking on the role of mother just yet. After Star Magazine claimed the Les Miserables star was pregnant with her first child, Hathaway's rep quickly clarified the rumors and confirmed to Us Weekly that she is not, in fact, with child.

It all started when her brother, Tom, made a joke about one day becoming an uncle or "Uncle Tom" — a reference to Harriet Beecher Stowe's 1852 anti-slavery epic Uncle Tom's Cabin — during a standup comedy show in Brooklyn, N.Y. Star then printed a story claiming that Hathaway's brother had let her pregnancy slip.

But Hathaway's rep rebutted the claims saying, "She is not pregnant. The joke her brother said was one day his sister will have a baby, and he will then be Uncle Tom."

Babies certainly seem to be a possibility for the A-Lister. She wed husband Adam Shulman back in September 2012, and after Hathaway's blockbusters The Dark Knight Rises and Les Miserables came out, she took off most of 2013 to spend with him.

In the Dec. 2012 issue of Vogue she said, "Oh, my God. I want to be a mother, and I anticipate loving my children quite fiercely."

She is next set to star in Dark Knight Rises director Christopher Nolan's 2014 sci-fi film Interstellar alongside Matthew McConaughey, Jessica Chastain, Matt Damon, Michael Caine, Casey Affleck, Topher Grace, and John Lithgow.
